The Visitation Ministry maintains the connection between the parish and those parishioners who are physically unable to attend Mass at Church. We ensure that they receive the Eucharist and are included in the prayer list of the Parish. We visit with them at home, in the nursing home or in the hospital at the family's request. We keep them abreast of what is happening in the Parish and bring weekly bulletins and daily reflection booklets.
Some of our ministry members visit Skyview Rehabilitation Center and the Veterans Home in Montrose along with the Danish Home in Croton. At Skyview on Wednesdyas we participate in a Mass in the community room and on Sundays we participate in a Communion Service. We also visit the residents in their rooms if they can't come to services.
We would like to begin praying the Rosary weekly; residents have requested this. We also would like to spend more time with the people we visit. Their stories and appreciation of our visit are priceless. The ministry could especially use help with the Wednesday Mass and the Sunday morning Eucharistic service at Skyview. At the Veterans Home, we bring people to the Mass at the Chapel on the grounds and could use assistance there, too.
