Through our Respect Life Society, we promote and educate about a consistent ethic of life from conception to natural death as well as promoting a preferential option for the poor. Prayer is central to our group's mission.
We aim to:
Increase the parish and community awareness of Catholic teaching regarding the sanctity of life and social and economic justice;
Take concrete action to protect the poor, weak, and vulnerable in society; and
Reclaim and advance the primacy of prayer in our lives and in the cause for life.
For over 25 years we have raised funds for various groups, from migrant workers in Dutchess County to women's education in Africa to crisis pregnancy centers in our local area.
All proceeds from our fundraisers, sleep-a-thons, bake and craft sles and generous personal donations go directly to those in need.
How you can help
We are looking for men and women who want to help impact specific challenges we face as individuals, famillies and as a church. This would include local parish activities and activities on a county, state or federal level.
We meet on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Reconciliation Room.
